My heart dropped.I didn’t even want to imagine facing him after that embarrassing scene.But—our eyes met.

“Let’s go out for Christmas dinner.”

“I’ll text you later,” he said.“Give me your number.You probably hate phone calls, right? I’ll send a short message.”

How did he know that?I really did avoid phone calls whenever possible.

It was only a brief conversation,but suddenly, everything around me seemed brighter—as if the entire world had turned a delicate shade of rose.

Does he already have plans for Christmas itself?Am I just second in line?Or is he really that busy...?
